Our History

Over-the-Rhine Community Council has been the residents’ voice since 1970.

As Cincinnati’s largest historic neighborhood, Over-the-Rhine has many, many unique features. For example, it contains the largest concentration of Italianate architecture in the country. It is home to the iconic Music Hall, home of the Cincinnati Ballet, May Festival, Opera and Symphony Orchestra. You can also find the Findlay Market, OTR Brewery District, School for Creative and Performing Arts and Memorial Hall in Over-the-Rhine. Over-the-Rhine is also the home of a major redevelopment initiative that includes the revitalization of Washington Park and Ziegler Park, the rehabilitation of historic buildings, and the construction of new ones. Over-the-Rhine is an entertainment destination, including theaters, music venues and art galleries.

Our most important feature is the people who live, work and play in Over-the-Rhine. We exist to provide a voice to represent their interests and concerns.
